City Courtyard
This 6-story, 1881 townhouse underwent a gut renovation and received an infrastructure and aesthetic upgrade that distilled complicated internal levels and secondary staircases to super simple, spacious, and clean areas. Several of the home’s original features were preserved including Tiffany glass windows and the graceful ribbonlike staircase that was updated with an ebonized handrail. It was a delicate balance of transformation and preservation that required solving many painstaking puzzles.
